How to have the icon name different from app name?

Is it possible to have a different name appearing under the app icon once installed compared to the app name?

The app i am making has quite a long name and i want to avoid having the "..." which occurs under the icon once installed.

    Hi, the short answer to your question is "no" (mind you, the long answer is still no with the word "unfortunately" added after it... ;-) )

    I believe it is yes. During publish you give the app the name that appears on under the icon. In iTunes connect you can give it a longer name. I have done this with an app: name in the store is Kung Fu Finger and the name under the app is KFF.
