Large amount of data in Tables - Missing data when playing can anyone help?

Hello. I read somewhere that the limit is 999 for each row/column. I have around 6 tables I want to fill for a word game, each with around 5000 words. The data imports fine. However when you play not all the words are displayed. When you go into the table to look at the data, suddenly 2 columns are missing. Has anyone else had this issue? Does anyone know a fix? Does anyone know if GS are working on sorting this out for the next release and when? I cant be the only one having large amounts of data? Many thanks for the help as always GS community. An official answer from a GS team would be fantastic.

    Break it into many columns. WordList 01 to Wordlist 10. It's around 1000 words per cell. Look for TShirtbooth tutorial 'Word Checker'. That should help a lot.

    Many thanks. but Im not sure this helps. The player must get a specific words correct in with the right letters. We would have to make an attribute for each word!?

    The demo I refer to has a thousand words in one CELL in the table separated by ! i.e. !Word1!
    !Word2!
    !Word3!

    The ! ! pairs are important!!!!!!!!!!

    Then the attribute game.word is checked against this ATTRIBUTE using the contains. To put your table values into the ATTRIBUTE just use CHANGE ATTRIBUTE game.word list = tablecellvalue(table,row,col)

    im not 100% following you sorry. Currently 5 letters of a word are displayed to the user at a random generation. Then the user selects the letters in the right order to get the complete or try again action. Current it works with all the words for a specific language in one table , seperated by each letter . Example

    D R I N K
    S W E E T

    around 5 - 8,000 words in each database. GS seems to have issues with this as imports fine. Then when you play it shows as

    D R I

    I go into the file and the table is suddenly only

    D R
    S W

    Please help!

    New solution create 8 tables with one row per word and the five letters. Call them table1, table2.....

    You now get your word from random tablex and random row. Move these values into attributes for checking :-)

    Import 999 rows per table ;-)

    mm but then we must have 25 tables or so ! Wont that cause issues?

    It must be in connection with the total data in tables that GS has? Because the first table with 8k works fine,

    Ive got 20 or so tables in my game! Some people gave games with over 100k words!

    nice to know thanks. Is there a Gamesalad update before year end? Maybe they improve the tables? Its a BIG job to redo the game using so many tables

    Okay my turn to get confused. Is the problem importing the tables via import! Or perceived limits when accessing the data ;-)

    import works 100% perfect. Its when you preview the app - 2 of the letters are blank (not working). Then you stop preview and go into the table - all the data is there (words) but 3 of the letters 2 of the letters are missing in the whole table. Just blank???

    That seems weird to me. I've not had any table issues. I can take a look at the project tomorrow or support could help. Midnight here!!!

    I suggest try reducing the number of rows in the meantime!!! Just so you can continue to build the game! The limits can be handled later! I'll pm you my email if you like!

    my only other theory is the preview mode causes the issue. Maybe device simulation or bianary it works fine. But then testing is difficult

    I thought that the preview mode didn't save the tables. You haven't got a SAVE TABLE have you as capacity could be an issue or a rogue CHANGE TABLE VALUE ???

    contacted tshirtbooth - he said sounds like I have a corrupt table /project file. He had the same and contacted support .- they fixed it in a day for free! So I just need to find the address to contact support. Very nice they will fix for free hopefully as a GS issue. Anyone have the contact details for support?

    Hi SaladStraightShooter. I do not think it is a template issue as tshirtbooth would of said so. I did ask. I would really appreciate someone to take a quick look and possibly fix for me. I have spent over 40 hours collecting these languages - I would be very frustrated if it cannot work. If premium service turns out to be needed we can discuss further.

    @SaladStraightShooter no this is not a template issue. I had another game with the exact same issue. Support was able to fix the table for me and i was back in action. let me see if i can dig up the email to who fixed the issue for me.

    **UPDATE- found the email and Robert was able to fix the table for me with an updated xml file.

    If you can tell me how to fix this then please do by all means! Can I make a new project and transfer elements over? Otherwise a quick fix by Robert or someone would be extremely helpful.

    many thanks for the feedback. As of now the game works - after you add the new daa to the tables you CANNOT open them again without data being lost. All works OK in preview so hopefully this translates to a binary. Ill keep you posted. Thanks very much for the feedback all.
