Problem with connecting two actors

I have an animated actor that drops a ball and I am trying to have it hit another actor. I can get the ball to fall in front of the other actor or behind the actor but not on the actor. I want the actor to be destroyed and immediately come back. Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong?

    Add a collide behavior to the actors.

    Have you tried adding a rule to the "actor" so that When actor collides or overlaps with ball actor, Destroy (or move) the actor?

    Do collisions get detected when on diff layers (haven't tried yet)

    @slattzo2000 Absolutely, it doesn't matter which layer!
