Stopped Procrastinating, decided on Gamesalad

Just thought I'd pop my head in and say hi.
After a bit of searching around for an easy to use platform for creating mobile apps, Gamesalad seemed to fit my bill the best. No licence purchased yet, i want to get something up and running first, and make sure my decision is justified :)

I decided to give up on coding many, many moons ago, since i never found it that enjoyable (I'm looking at you C++), and have been in a completely different industry. Its been good to delve back in to see the progress that's been made on mature, codeless or easy to code solutions, and that's what pepped my interest into creating something.

As basically a "beginner", its a tough decision working out what platform is the best. There are at least 6 quality products out there now that allow you to do similar things, quickly and easily. None are perfect, and none seem to have everything you want.

Gamesalad ticked most of my boxes, looks simple to use, creates fast, has the majority features for creating a quality 2d game or application, community seems friendly, excellent tutorials and templates to follow, and allows me to publish to the biggest platforms.

Its good to stop procrastinating and pick a platform.
Should be fun to put my skills to the test over the coming months.

Oh and i'm from sunny Brisbane in Australia! So hi to the fellow aussies out there.

How do we 'tag' a user name with a space in it? Do I write @Project_Outset, @ProjectOutset...nothing seems to work (certainly @Project Outset does not) and the user will not receive any messages I guess.....@SaladStraightShooter do you know how to fix this..can it be fixed?

@SaladStraightShooter i'm more than happy to ditch the gap if its going to cause a problem with the tagging system.

Oh, you wont find an aussie that doesnt like cricket. And if you do, they are an imposter!

Good to see Gail swinging the bat the other day against us in the 20/20. Pity about the rain though. The lewis duckworth system may have robbed you of victory.

    A) You bet. Not sure who to barrack for...Hawks or Swans....thinking Swans but Hawks are likely to win.

...I have a vague sense that I'm not really sure what you guys are talking about...
We are talking about Australian Rules Football. The season ending match happens tomorrow (local time) to decide the best team for 2012. It is on ESPN I think in the US.

Please tell me there's at least one Aussie in here who like Cricket!!
    (West Indian fan here!)
I don't mind Cricket. I actually prefer it when the Aussies get beaten by other teams except the English (of course).

Sorry we are moving way off topic here.

West Indies are finally getting some old time form...I miss the old days when they used to scare the hell out of teams. Yep you did well beating the Poms.

@Project_Outset - welcome. I myself a newbie here. Compared platforms and found gamesalad the perfect choice. I am no developer. I'm waiting to complete a game before jumping to Pro Account. Unfortunately with a day job it is hard to find the proper time to dedicate to developing. I started a game which I'm excited about, but I can never finish it. I think of taking a week vacation to concentrate on the game which is simple enough to do, and a week is probably a good time frame for finishing it.

Anyway, enough about me - welcome aboard. People here are very friendly (unlike in other forums).

    So...how'd u guys enjoy that game today? ;) @Project_Outset @lycettebros
    Chris Gayle was on fire!!!
Did not watch it but I am glad that the WI are becoming competitive again - makes it more interesting.
I am a bit old school - I hate 20/20 cricket...in fact I think it is killing the game.

Yep, Chris Gayle went to town on us, and our top order was hopeless.
Now, go take it to those sri lankans in the finale!!
