Hey everyone I'm a complete Apple noob and was just wondering what I specifically need to publish an app on the iphone app store. I've heard some people mention that you need to own a Mac, but if this is true, why make a gamesalad for windows? Could I get away with only owning an iphone? I have previously made apps for Blackberries but am looking to leave that field, I'm sure you can guess why. Thanks guys/gals! (PS. I'm just looking to do this as cheap as possible, not that well off :(

    You need the following:

    - Mac (used mac mini is cheap, although make sure its compatible with OS X Mountain Lion)
    - Xcode developer software w/Application Loader (free)
    - iOS Developer Account ($99 per year)
    - iOS device (optional, but highly recommend. Good idea to test on a device before calling your app final)

Gamesalad also publishes to Android as well and doesn't require a mac.

Yes you need a Mac. This is true of any developer that wants to publish for Apple mobile devices not matter the development engine. You need specific Apple software like keychain and Xcode to create the proper signing certificates and to upload the App to Apple's app store. If you buy the pro version of GS you will be able to publish to Androind on Windows as the Androind SDK is available for windows computers from Google.

try macincloud.com. They let you rent the mac server through the internet. Then download gs, xcode, and do everything as a mac user

You should have advice from every store you are targeting. Testing on a physical device is worth it's weight in gold.
