Custom resolution

Hello, I'm new with GameSalad, I have a little experience in game creation with other softwares and programmation languages. I discovered GameSalad and it looks really cool, so I've started learning it.

I read the first tutorial but I still have one big question : can I choose a custom resolution for my game ? I want to make a game that I will publish on a website, for example. Do I need to choose "legacy web game" or "GameSalad Arcade" ? I can't even see the resolution that it's referring.

Or do the resolution is set with the size of my scenes ? In that case, what is the purpose of the project info platform choice ?

I'm a bit confused here.. Thanks for your help!

Well since every device has different screen sizes it changes the aspect ratio and for retina it's how the pixels are packed on the screen. So your resolution is based on the targeted hardware. But as with all computer devices the dpi needs to be 72 it's the aspect ratio that differs. With retina the imported image is double the screen aspect ratio and the software handles scaling it down for non retina devices.

    Did you find a solution?

Yes, the Gamesalad Arcade setting is HTML 5 so choose that if you want to publish to the web.

It will publish your game to the Gamesalad Arcade and then you can embed that same game in your own website.
