game freezes immediately... then..

game freezes immediately... then.. if i leave it running it eventually starts after 2 mins... then when i restart it it plays ok, but performance is bad. ive followed the optimization tips, the only one that I can't follow is keeping the images the same size as the original art because they need to be resized to very specific sizes. could this be my problem? i have a game engine of about 50mb, art is 10 and music is 10. this happens in both gs viewer and in adhoc. also, it often seems to perform better in the gs viewer than as an adhoc

    Check to be sure all your images are 72dpi and also start turning off code until you find the problem. Display text can prove to be problematic but freezes are due to bad code that may not occur until it runs on the idevice chipset.

    so ive used the deep blue apps optimizer, all code ok, images proper size, i even re-sized all images to the actor size.. followed all ***31 optimization tips. i'll try turning off code.. thanks..

    Yes it's cumbersome but it is most likely some conflicting code. This is why I test scenes and games continually via viewer and adhoc to catch code problems as they may occur. This way I know what I recently did and only have to test that. Also keep versions of your game as you progress so you can always go back to a working version to narrow down the conflict.

    As mentioned, keep version files. I have been working for a while and every new feature or long piece of code gets saved as another version. I am up to V1.3.2.8. Just so you know for next time.

    yea, i have 50 different versions as well.. im on 5.7 right now .. im going back with each big step, right now im going back to a very early version as none of them seem to work on the ipad. i was under the impression that gs viewer was may more sluggish than ad hoc, and thought if it worked there, that it would easily work as an adhoc.. have had no problems with gs viewer..

    i also have around 100 actors each that change positions 20 times with an x & y accuracy of .0001, could this a problem? does iOS no respond well to that many decimal places?

    also, could it be that im using *more than instead of *equals to determine when the actor moves?
