Keyboard input crashes GameSalad whenever I try to use it?

in Working with GS (Mac)
I just updated GameSalad and I'm trying to do a simple screen where somebody enters their user name. I watched a youtube vid and followed it to the T, but when I try to test it in the Preview, it crashes gamesalad as soon as I click on the actor that has the input in it. What can I do?

    Restart your mac and gs. Gs sometimes takes loads of memory and it crashes on mine when it's above 1.5 gs memory usage. If not then quite possible ur file got corrupted restart from scratch and always take. A backup.

    Restarted both and didn't do anything. I also tried using the same process in a different file and it crashed as well. How do I check the memory usage? I think I might just uninstall/reinstall Gamesalad but I have a feeling it wont work.

    So I got it to work one time in a different 'game' file, but then on repeat, it crashed again. It seems I can use keyboard input function, but as soon as I put in it to change an attribute, it locks up and crashes. Is this a new glitch perhaps?
