Settings For iPhone

Hello All,

I was a regular with gamesalad, but haven't used it for several months. I have noticed something new called 'Legacy iPhone...'.

I am not to sure what this is.

What I was, is to create my game so it runs on iPhone 4+ (i.e. Retina display). I am not too fussed about iPhone 5 (if it stretches etc), and want it to be ok when running on older iPhones (non-retina).

What settings, sizes should I use?

Secondly, should I create my art to the size you will hopefully mention above?

Many thanks and hope to hear from someone soon,

Cheers,

Rob

Legacy iphone means any model prior to iphone 5 (new screen width). So if you want a game with the initial screen dimensions of iphone 4s and below- use legacy. HOWEVER, you can use the newer iphone 5 selection to also make games that run on all iphones, etc. You would just need to make sure that the extra screen dimensions are not crucial to game play on iphone 4s and below- because that area will be cropped off to those users. OR you can even make two different versions of the game within the same game. Meaning, you can create a rule at the start of the game that says IF screen width is iphone 5 size then go to version a. If screen size is detected as iphone 4s and below go to version b. so theres a few tricks (even ones i havent listed) to achieve absolute compatibility. Do some searching on these forums and google about this issue. Youll nail it in no time.
