    I was wondering the same thing...

    (although @SaladStraightShooter did confirm it would be coming at the end of January, with a long awaited feature for iOS, and it's not the end of January)

    IAP for at LEAST the main Google Play market would be fantastic, instead of hearing that it's hard b/c there's so many purchasing options for the Android platform.

    I wouldn't count on the end of January as linecooks haven't be notified of any testing yet.

    Yep- spot on! ;)

    @PixelMetal

    I think that's unlikely, because GameSalad never releases 1/2 finished features

    @FryingBaconStudios

    Do Line Cooks Beta test for non-Creator things?

    I think Universal Binaries is a publishing option, rather than something that needs to be incorporated into your project.

    Do Line Cooks Beta test for publishing options?

    I just finished a 3 month GS project for the company I work for and will be submitting to the game of the month thread tomorrow under the company GS user account.

    If there's one thing I've learned from this project... everyone's a critic. Keep up the good work GS team. Looking forward to the next build.

    that long awaited feature had better be grid snapping
  • ChakkuChakku Member Posts: 1,513
    @AdSentertainment - 'tis not Snap-to-grid. That's lower on the totem pole.

    Spoiler alert: It's Universal Binaries.
    @SaladStraightShooter

    It was kind of obvious...https://forums.gamesalad.com/discussion/40150/whats-cooking-in-the-gamesalad-kitchen

    Translation: Universal Binaries = Laser Beams

    Right, I'm sure universal binaries are useful, but I still expect laser beams with my free software. I don't see what's so hard about that.

    I think @saladstraightshooter should get a badge for the most use of the word *release* in a post

    Will be there more overscan options like stretch to fit?
  • zoopezoope Member Posts: 210
    Can't wait any longer for this release :D

    im wondering how UB will actually work? Will it automatically stretch the project art ? E.g. iphone project will stretch to fit ipad OR there will just be two modes/ scenes where we add the ipad art?
  • wpatenwpaten Member, PRO Posts: 281
    My guess (which is completely and totally unfounded and bereft of any actual research or insight by the way), is that it will utilize what they have already put into place with the Overscanning.
  • jonmulcahyjonmulcahy Member, Sous Chef Posts: 10,408
    Yea, my guess is automatic over scanning, so you'll need to design with that mind
  • wpatenwpaten Member, PRO Posts: 281
    Currently we design our games from the beginning at 1136x768, but keep everything that is most important within the safe zone of 960x640 in the center. This allows us to only make 1 set of graphics for iphone 4,5 and iPad (without taking advantage of iPad 3 2x resolution).

    Only 1 set of images helps us keep our final file size below 50 megs, which is always a hassle with the Google Play store.

    @SaladStraightShooter - Is there any way to clarify how Universal Binaries will be utilized? Stretching vs. Over scanning?
  • gambetgambet Member Posts: 38
    I think that maybe will be some overscan improvments based on gamesalad support mail:

    "Thank you for contacting GameSalad Customer Support.

    I have seen other users try to do this as well, it doesn't really work. When you try to force the camera to a different location like this, it is conflicting with what the crop feature is coded to do. I've sent this over to our dev team for review and to get additional clarification as to what is going on "under the hood" when this happens. In the meantime, I strongly suggest against using these types of rules to get around how crop functions. We're working on adding additional options for aspect ratio management, so stay tuned!"

    @SaladStraightShooter forgive the question, is there any estimated date for the new engine? at least some information ... code for our games is the same for the new engine? thanks

    This has been asked a million times - I doubt you'll get anything out of it.
