Gradient Banding -- Adobe Illustrator: How to stop the Banding?!

Hey all, I've seen a bunch of posts about removing banding in gradients in other programs like Photoshop and such, but I was just wondering if anyone more "graphically advanced" than me had any tricks up their sleeves on how to do this in Illustrator. I have tried adding noise in a new layer, and then changing the alpha channel to 2%, but that doesn't seem to change a whole lot on the device. (Who knows, I might just be doing this wrong) So, If anyone knows any good ways to get rid of the banding, that would be much appreciated!

Thanks
~Josh

Hi Josh, I guess you are exporting the Illustrator file as a PNG file?

If so, I believe you'll need to open that PNG file in Photoshop or GIMP (or something similar) and add 1 tiny little pixel of transparency to the image. Hidden in a corner or somewhere it won't be noticed. Then re-export the image as a PNG with transparency and the banding should be gone.

    Hope that makes sense.

@VoidedSky if you are experiencing banding in game salad, but not in illustrator, then yes, you need to do exactly what @jamie_c suggests.

Make sure you export with transparency.

@jamie_c Why Yes, yes I do wish that every problem could be solved by adding one pixel of transparency to it. Lets see If I can do that with this image:
