Landscape / portrait mode.

Hi!

I've got kinda big problem with landscape and portrait mode. My app supports both modes, when I test it on the Gamesalad itself (simply clicking play using universal build) it works perfectly, the issue starts when I upload it into my iDevice using adhoc - there comes a big ugly black stripe on the right side of the screen.

While publishing I chose everything correctly (overscan, not letterbox), so I don't know what I am doing wrong.

Any suggestions?

When you build your adhoc are you doing the unverisal in the publisher? And when you test it on the creator what device is your game using? Legacy iPhone, iPhone, iPad...etc

I switch between the devices in the game just to see how it works on every device.

Yes, I am doing the universal in the publisher.

    Still no idea :(

Make sure the creator is 100% not 50% and try to publish it universal using letterbox instead of overscan.

The creator preview is just a preview it may not turn out the same on the device. Nothing is better than testing it out on a device. So you can't always go off of what you see in the preview

Yep, I know - I just don't know what is the reason.

    Still does not work :(

Well my only other suggestion is pick either landscape or portrait which ever looks better and just go with that. Sorry I couldn't help you out. I've actually never did both on the same game

Nope, it fits in the whole screen, without a bar.

I think I will simply find the way how to do it manually. without help from the gs creator itself. I belive it is possible to achieve using behaviors.

I mean when you change the orientation does the bacon scene have a black bar?
  • cucurbitcucurbit Member Posts: 68
No, it does not. It works perfectly in the creator.

Have you tested it on a iPhone or iPod?
  • cucurbitcucurbit Member Posts: 68
I have uploaded the iPhone version to my iPad and there is the same issue.

Have you got any idea how to set it up manually?

    If game.scene.rotation = -90'
    then rotate.actor

    Would it work?

I recently ran in to problems with this also @curcurbit. I was however eventually able to figure it out.
If you'd like to add me on Skype, you can send over the project and I can see what I can do.

BUMP. Any idea? Any formulas to solve it manually, not using the built - in ones?

Sorry man, I don't have time anymore. Maybe in a few days if you haven't gotten it worked out.

Please explain the problema and project here much better than you did originally so that others can help.

    @SnapFireStudios

I belive that the reason is the camera movement. I just need to know how to constrain the camera to the center of the screen, regardless of its orientation.

It would be great if you could simply give me a hint here.
