Is it possible to make screen dimmer or brighter in gamesalad?

    You can add a scene color (block) and change it's alpha to 0.5 or whatever you like.

    But does it refer to hardware brightness?

    No, GameSalad cannot access hardware brightness (backlight).

    I dont think ios even allows that.. and no, gamesalad does not allow that either. But why do you want to do that?

    How about using software control to make it appear brighter?

    You could start with your graphics a full brightness and use a black overlay to tint them back. Then adjust the alpha of the black overlay to make the screen darker and brighter. Kind of like some of the samples in my tutorial here about full screen effects.

    Another question, how do you loop the brightness from bright to dim to bright again?

    @KevinFlynn

    Constrain self.Colour.Alpha to this:

    0.5*sin( game.Time *100)+0.5

    The '100' part controls the speed, higher values are faster.

    Can do it with a loop logic? I want to do it without pressing the button.

    @Socks To be clearer, i want to do it with an If statement. For example:

    If count = 0, then count+1 and fade screen
    If count = 3, then count-1 and brighten screen

    The problem is i cannot figure out how to make it count beyond 1

    The button from jamie_c tutorial where you press it to change brightness.

    @KevinFlynn

    Apologies, I don't understand any of that ? I might need more coffee.
