I've found this information in Unity 3d docs.

Does this apply to Game Salad? I mean will give us better fps compared to ogg?

    short answer yes.
WAVs will load faster than OGG since the engine does not need to decompress them (WAVs)

if you want to try it out for your self the most recent nightly build (if you are pro. if not good reason to upgrade) has wav support right now.

WAVs will load faster than OGG
    And this could affect fps?

I don't think wavs will help with fps. But your sounds will load quicker. Wavs take up more space in your app package so you decide what is best for your game. Smaller download size or faster loading for sounds.

They are best for short sounds.

How does RAM usage get affected when using WAVs? will it take up more RAM?

It takes the same amount of ram as once the game is loaded the OGGs are decompressed. The difference will be in the app package size. The savings as to process is there is no decompression going on which uses processor time.

It makes more sense to me that OGGs would actually require more RAM than WAVs (at least initially) since the compressed files would need to be stored in RAM before they are decompressed.

Well the new nightly build supports WAV so do a test.
