Actor over an actor?

Hey everyone I'm wanting to basically spawn a bubble around the current actor when he collides with a power up is it possible to spawn this actor over the other while keeping the original actor there until he gets hit and loses the bubble or am I going to have to completely change the animation to an animation of him in a bubble? If I have to do that is there anyway to change the actor altogether or actors name so rules apply differently when they hit the ground?

If this doesn't make much sence i don't blame you I'm finding it hard to explain it but how about

When actor collides with floor then death

but

When actor collects bubble (in air) then when actor in bubble collides with floor then interpolate Y to 200 & minuses the bubble (returning to original actor) thus original rules of death when he hits the floor.

Regards

John

What you want to do is spawn the bubble actor and then constrain it to the current actors X and Y locations, that way the current actor will appear to be inside the bubble. Then have a rule that checks if the bubble is active and the actor gets hit just destroy the bubble. I've done this exact routine in a tutorial I'm working on about power ups, though it's not published yet.

Hey @Jamie_c thanks for the reply, slowest reply ever but I've only just gotten time to do this now! But how can I constrain it if my actor moves along the Y axis constantly?

Edit 3: Gave it some thought on the drive home from work and I've cracked it! If anyone wants to know it seems I had to also constrain it the otherway round!

I spoke too soon didn't I! I'm wanting when the actor is in a bubble then when the actor in the bubble hits the floor to boost up in Y by say 500, Now I thought the rule would be (in the bubble rules) when actor collides with ground then interpolate game.heroY to 500 but this doesn't seem to do anything :/ any ideas?

@Jamie_c Ok I figured out how to constrain the spawned actor to the current actor but the only problem I have whenever it hits another of the same bubble it keeps adding and adding to make a super bubble if you understand?

    Reedit!,

Believe it or not I've managed to fix it by adding when small bubble hits big bubble then destroy the actor etc, thanks for all your help :)
