Icon is faded when published

I have a nice new app icon for "Blastronaut" Yesterday I was making an adhoc so uploaded my new icon during publishing (I added a 1024x1024. Once I installed the build on my phone the icon was faded and looked like it had a dropped shadow effect added. Is there an option to remove this shadow though GS Publisher? and was 1024x1024 the right size to be uploading. FYI my game is for IPhone 4,5&Touch only.

@dwibre There should be no drop shadow.
There should be no transparency in your file you submit.
The only drop shadow will be added by the OS when displayed on the phone screen - it is minimal - barely noticeable in fact.

The faded effect may be the added 'reflection' that is set to default apps (you have to turn it off when you publish your app in GS publishers)

@dwibre from your image it's clear that this is the glossy effect that apple applies by default to app icons, as @lycettebros mentioned. There's an option to turn this off when publishing.

@BoomshackBarry This has not been sent to apple though, this is just an adhoc build. Can I turn this off during GS Publishing?

I believe so, but I haven't published anything since the new build system came along so I can't tell you where the option might be. Perhaps it will always add the glossy on adhocs until you submit to apple. I'm sure somebody who's recently published will chip in with an answer.

You have the glossy icon option enabled on the website publishing port. Turn it off before publishing and it will go away
