need help with accelerate boost

I'm making a game where you have a few boosters. every time you use one you accelerate at a speed of 2500 for 0,5 seconds.
but the problem is, after 0,5 seconds it stil had the accelerate speed of 2500... but I want it back to the accelerate speed it was before.
does someone know how to fix this (and yes it has to be accelerate and not move :) )

    Not exactly sure what you're trying to accomplish in your game. However, it sounds like you could use the change velocity behavior.
