Gamesalad slowing down alot. NEED HELP!

I have been working a 2d side scroller platformer game for several months now and there is tons of rules, behaviours, actors, attributes, and etc. in the game. I recently just started adding in alot of new art like animation for the enemies and tiles for the environment, to play-test it to children. Its been slowing down alot and crashing. We are still only around half way there in terms of progress. Now Im figuring out how to make this run better with all this new art in.

Sometimes, when Game Salad Creator slows down, and I sit staring at the screen waiting for it to become active again, my blood starts to boil, and I play-act at grabbing my laptop and smashing it repeatedly across my desk, and yell at it under my breath.

I can't say it'll help. But you could try that.

they are working on fixing all these memory leaks, you should have seen it 2 years ago where you had to save, quite and reopen ever couple minutes. in one game I was making I was restarting after every time I opened an actor!

so just make sure you save often, and restart when things start to get a little slow. If you check out the weekly status updates you can see they are working on improving the creator.

@Wingmanapps I second that! The project optimizer is great. I don't always listen to the rules and mention it now and then too, as it is a great tool. I wish it was integrated into GS.
