Hi Guys

Basically I have an iAP in my current game, which allows players to unlock
the full game for $0.99, and the game is free to download.

Was wondering if there is any way to remove this iAP and change the game to Paid for $0.99 ?

Not sure how to do it, any help would be really appreciated.

Cheers

    You would need to update the game: remove any iAP buttons you have in game, and then *I Think*, you need to remove iAP from itunes connect when you submit the new updated app.

    @MikeZteel Thanks mate,

    So what happens to the live version of the game, while the update is in review.

    Nothing

    But don't you need to set the cleared to sale option to no, before you can remove it from the next version, which will affect the live version.

    Since, I have added a new version, but there is no option to delete it, since I cannot see any in-apps in the new version.

    The only option is to go to manage in-app purchases and set the unlock full game iap 'cleared for sale' to yes or no, or change the price tier.

    If I do any changes to it, wont it affect the currently live version ?

    just so you know, all of the people who bought your app when it was free are going to get your paid version for free.

    @GraphicWarehouse Thats the tough gamble I am also mulling over at the moment.

    Rescue Aliens has had 10K downloads in a weeks time so far.

    Sucks that ten thousand people would get your full game free but I think what you should do if you haven't already is implement an in game currency + store and keep it free because freemium models are very effective.

    @GraphicWarehouse I know mate, but have made peanuts so far, that's why the need to make to it paid. I'm just not sure what to really work on now, next updates, improvements, price changes.

    Anyway, it would be good to know the process to remove an IAP like an unlock full game IAP and convert the game to paid. Will need to do this ASAP.

    I still think you should keep it free because you have a gem right here and if you made your game a little money hungry with in app purchases, a store, and load it with ads you could make more money than a paid game.

    I also think you should make a full game template for $100 on the marketplace and gshelper.com

    People don't like to spend a couple bucks on a good game anymore because they don't have to, they like playing the game with the almost forced option to spend money like candy crush saga.

    EDIT:

    downloaded your game and realized you do have iap, never mind maybe paid + template on the marketplace is the way to go.

    @GraphicWarehouse Thanks for the download. And yes working on incorporating changes suggested by yourself, as well as lots of others on the forum. Having an all nighter rite now, but need to ensure the next version is prepared and tested ASAP.

    And yes, having just been on GS for a year now, not sure if I have the credentials yet to start posting templates etc. But would be more than happy to help out anyone who would like to know how any aspect of this game was done.

    I think a few people would buy the full game template of rescue aliens at $100 and it would give a little revenue boost.

    @GraphicWarehouse Will certainly consider that, thanks :)

    10,000 download and only a week and you're already fretting. Patience my friend.

    @FryingBaconStudios Thanks, but have a horrible conversion rate at the moment, thats why the worry. And being a Noob, not sure how to manage this situation. Maybe iAds might help.

    Yeah anytime you do a free app Ads should be included with an IAP option to turn them off. This is pretty standard for free apps. With ads you get a revenue stream even though people might not make IAP purchases. It takes some time for people to decided to make the purchase say you offer more levels a week isn't much time for people to have played and be ready to unlock more. Be ware though making your game paid will drop your downloads big time. The reason why you got 10,000 is because it's free. I wouldn't be banking on anywhere near those kinds of numbers if you make it straight paid.

    @FryingBaconStudios I hear what you are saying, and on it now!!!

    I have had a look at your game - it's nicely done - and to be honest you need to have some patience. Freemium is direct marketing which in normal business gets a 1%-3% conversion. So saying that - you have 10,000 users you might have made $100-300? But games are not direct marketing - they are engaging interactive entertainment. So if you get somebody who just must have this, or must have that - or is just lazy and can't be bothered working to go forward then you make sales that way. Look at the successful free games - Temple Run being the most it has more than 60,000,000 iOS users alone. That is what you are competing against and that takes time to get that amount of sales. You have to suck people in deep enough to keep them there.

    If you maintain your sales rate you will have half a million players in a year. That would be good yeah?

    @matarua Agree

    Although haven't used iAds at all.

    Thanks all for your suggestions, deeply appreciated. Will continue with the free version patiently, and continue adding more enhancements and other changes gathered from here.

    Cheers

    Yep patience just as I said. Freaking out after a week or freaking out period never leads to good business decisions.
