Sound no longer working...

Here's some strange behaviour... I imported a M4A file into my game and it played when attached to an actor without a hitch. I re-mastered the sound, saved it with the same settings, imported it and applied it to the same actor. Now the sound wont play.

I can get it to play from within the sounds panel (IE the area which lists the sound assets available to the game) but the "Play Sound" and "Play Music" behaviours (I've tried them both and I've tried importing the file as an MP3) don't seem to work.

Any ideas? This is somewhat of a deal breaker... the game needs sound.

Any help would be greatly appreciated... searching the forums doesn't seem to yield any answers.

Thanks.

Downgraded GameSalad to 0.10.2 and still no luck.

Also re-imported the original sound file (MP4) and it refuses to work too -- with the exception of playback from the sound assets listing.

@playincorporated go ahead and submit a bug report with an example project and I will take a look at it later on this week

Just tried a test... I created a new app, threw in the same files it seems to work fine.

The old app (which I zipped and sent to you) still doesn't work.

I haven't invested a tonne of time in developing the app but if I have to re-create apps every time this occurs I can foresee a time when the amount of work to re-do will approach a point where I will pull my hair out. And I love my hair.

    Ideas?

Will zip up and send you the new test app too... thanks for the help. I really want this to work -- I think GS is going to be the PhotoShop of game/app dev (IE the king of game/app dev tools).

OK. Maybe I borked it, but sound is now working again. Here is the sequence of events, hopefully it helps:

I quit working on the app and had a nice day in the pool. I come back and, lo and behold, the behaviours I had programmed (not just the ones to do with sound) were absent.

It's as if I deleted them all. I'm pretty sure I didn't, but whatever. It is 0.10 beta software after all.

Anyway, I put the rules and behaviours back in and everything is golden again.

The strange thing is that prior to quitting last night the rules and behaviours in question did appear in the editor -- I had been editing them to see if I could get the sound working again. I even played with them after downgrading to 0.10.2 -- they were there but the sound wasn't firing.

Then, after restarting today, the rules and behaviours were missing and, naturally, the sound still wasn't working. It's as if the editor ate the rules and behaviours last night, proceeded to display them as if all was well, and then (after some time and a restart today) finally copped to that fact and displayed no rules or behaviours.

Tres weird... and who knows I may have been mixed up. But I doubt it.
