resolution of independence

hello all. I have a question regarding the resolution of independence. I have seen many threads about this but the only thing I got is liarme still more.
for example if I want to make a game with resolution of independence that I have to put the actor to twice its size, but I have to do another actor for phones that do not support the resolution of independence or creating only actor to twice its size when it detects that the device has no retina display creates the same actor but for that device?
in short what I mean esque if I have to create the same actor 2 times for mobile having resolution of independence and another same actor who does not have this resolution for independence. thanks in advance and excuse my English and my ignorance.

You don't have to double the size of Actors, just the image file you are using. For example, if you have an Actor with the size 256x256, you will use a 512x512 image file for it. Now to answer your concern regarding devices that do not have retina display, no need to worry about that -- the generated code for your game should automagically detect this for you (e.g. if it's an iPhone 3G, it will use a lower quality version of your retina-ready image so performance is not hampered).
