Launch image size for iPad retina?

I saw Apple's guidelines wrote that launch image for iPad retina landscape mode is 2048 x 1496.
But on Gamesalad publishing page, at custom loading image part, they ask for the size of 2048 x 1536.
Are they talking about different things?
Am I going to submit the launch image of size 2048 x 1536 to Gamesalad only?
I'm so new to this, I read the old related posts but could not find the answer.

    A full screen retina image for the iPad should be created at 2048 x 1536 for Gamesalad.

    the 2048x1496 is for apps that display the status bar along the top with the time/battery/cell signal. GS doesn't display that part so the 2048x1536 is what you want to design for.
