Hey! Looks like you've made a great start. I'm certainly no graphic designer, so take anything I say with a pinch of salt!

I'd suggest that they're a bit "busy". A logo should ideally be simple and striking. If you think about all the "guess the logo" games, how the logos featured are so recognisable even with the words taken out. I'd recommend trying to simplify them down a bit.

    Keep at it though!

    thanks for you comment @armelline
I think you made a good point there... they are a bit busy ^^
so maybe the word logo is not the good word xD
thanks for the tip :) I will try to work on it

The Neon Light one would make a good background for a game or maybe just a menu, you might need to tone down the light/glow though, and maybe create breaks in the lines as neon lights aren't normally joined in one continuous line. One of the themes I'm toying with in the project I'm working on is the 1920's/30's where neon lights were becoming popular so they might make it into the mix

Good work and keep at it :)

    thanks for you comment @KevinCross
I know what you mean and I tried to fix that but I couldn't find how...
thanks for the tip though :)

    it's a good idea to use this for a menu/background :)
    thanks :D

The first 2 are quite interesting but I think there is a little too much going on making them really busy and it kind of takes away from the name. I liked the last two. Need a little tweaking but over all looking good! Keep it up and keep practicing!

    thanks for your comment @killerpenguins
I think you are right... they are too busy but I didn't spend a lot of time with it so I still can change that ^^ (not sure how xD)
    I will try that later
first I will try to make a mirage text effect :)
    thanks

Nice work! but yea i thought the same thing. though they are cool looking! its a little to much the first 2. A great start and i know you were just having fun with it!. the other 2 are awesome and are on the right track.. only thing i see i would change is for the neon light one i would tighten the words up to be really close together. just because logos are usually really tight lol.

@Dues thanks for your comment and you opinion :)
do you like all of the 'logo's'? ^^
  • DuesDues Member Posts: 1,159
I think you should focus on not having to much "noise" in your logos.
A logo should be striking and easy to read. Keep practice and you will get there :)

Yeah T kind of agree with the rest of the crew. I like the first two 3D type images.. The next series of logos are quite noisy that it's hard to read the text.

I'm no expert but try to focus more on the text than anything else. You want the text to stand out
  • -Timo--Timo- Member Posts: 2,313
@VeiraGames thanks for your comment and your tip.
you are no expert? you are THE expert! :D
I really try to let the text stand out but yeah... it's not really working but I am working on it ^^ thanks :)

if you are aiming for game start menu screens...then you are right on the money! lol theres a lot of background in those! so great

but if u want logos like what @veiragames meant is theres more things you can do to the text then, drop shadow, bevel emboss, outer glow.... actually... try a logo without a background so you can focus more on text/Logo keep this one simple but unique. i bet its would look great because u have the skills

@RedeyeArts I am 15 years on this is just a hobby (just like gamesalad) and I am not looking straight for the money ^^ but when I can earn some money that would be cool of course :) thanks

I just made 2 logo's for Bjandthekatz Studios.
    here they are

I agree with others here, try and create logos without backgrounds. They're quite noisy. The first bjandkatz logo might look a lot better on a white background.

Keep in mind that when you do create them for people they're not going to want a background on them at all. Most will want a transparent background so that they can place them on their splash screens or websites etc.
