Is it really a guarantee that anything not re-released for iOS 7 is automatically broken? I'm considering broken to mean it just will not work when the user attempts to launch an iOS 6 app under iOS 7.

all IOS 6 apps won't work on IOS 7.

Existing shipped games ought to continue working. We may well have compatibility issues with Creator. Working on that now. :)

    @Gamelover456 Please stop assuming everything.

You assumed that iOs 7 would be released Today in the State of GameSalad post. There are many sources that say it will actually be released the 18th.
@CodeWizard IOS 7 comes out next week on September 10, 2013.
Not everything will break. Have you tested an adhoc build with iOs 7?
I've tested many of my games and have downloaded multiple games onto my iPhone with iOs 7.
Please read other comments and dont jump to conclusions.

the GM can be downloaded now over in the dev portal.

since I submitted CAT-ACLYSM today i think it's time to download it and make sure it will work :)

I've tried my app on iOS 7 GM, and it crashes! NOT COOL GameSalad... Not cool. Get out a stable build that has guides, and has support for iOS 7.

I am really wondering why Gamesalad is so late on the iOS7 train. Its not like apple just yesterday announced hey here is iOS 7. We all know that it will come and as most GS games seems to have an issue with iOS7 its an issue for all of us. For sure we don`t want any iOS 7 features we just want that our games not crashing. So please release a fix as soon as possible. Even if I think its already to late because we not just need to get a fix from your side we need to get the update approved. And all this in one week ... Ones more GS is proving that a true business cant relay on GS. Very sad.

Please read other comments and dont jump to conclusions.
I've read more comments saying it doesn't work since iOS7 beta was released then I have saying it does. In fact yours is probably the first comment I've seen saying it works fine.

I'll base my assumptions on the majority.

for everyone saying it's crashing. did you update both iOS7 and Xcode at the same time? Did you build and generate your app using Xcode 5 or 4? What build of iOS7 did you test against? Beta1? GM?

gotta give more details than 'it crashes'
  • mulyincmulyinc Member, PRO Posts: 102
Tested it on beta 1-6 and the GM. We do also Xcode game development so we know how to deal with this kind of stuff. Also it happens not only with our own games, we tested several game salad games. Do you have an app on the store that's not crashing on iOS7, than please show it. Our main question is why doesn't gamesalad providing earlier solutions for this kind of problems? We are since more than 3 years pro members and we know that's not the first time that gamesalad is missing major ios changes ...Thanks Arne

    @jonmulcahy,

Updated iPhone 4 to ios 7, second and third beta release and used the most recent version of Xcode (downloaded it 2 weeks ago). All apps crashed on loading.

I hope the native developers aren't suffering as badly, else this should be an interesting release when no apps work on the new phones, LOL.

If anyone else is looking for a cardboard box to live in when their app revenues crash I have room on the left side, theres a little drip but my body heat will help keep us warm ;)

@CodeWizard How does one go about getting hold of a nightly build if they are pro?

I just updated to the GM seed of iOS7 and XCode this morning. I'll be testing my existing in store apps and CAT-ACLYSM which I submitted yesterday.

I would encourage all of you to update to the GM seed, the older betas are not really a good indication of the state of the OS. the GM is what will be released to everyone next week.

What about us non-pro users, I'm planning to go Pro at the time my last edits need to be done (tweetsheets, iAds etc).

Non-pro members don't have acces to nightly builds right?

Does that mean I am not able to adhoc test my game anymore when iOS7 is released untill ive gone Pro and downloaded the nighly build thingy?
  • jonmulcahyjonmulcahy Member, Sous Chef Posts: 10,408
iOS7 functionality should be in the next official release. Pro just gets you access to it sooner.

unless you'll be finished in the next week or two I wouldn't worry about it.

Awesome. Any release date planned yet?
  • mulyincmulyinc Member, PRO Posts: 102
It would be a good first step if it's available for us pro members ... Any eta from gamesalad? Time is running away. Don't like all the bad ratings from the users when they upgrade to ios7 and the games don't work any more.

Based on my scientific testing of opening some of my existing apps. They all worked. Two did crash once when interacting with the game but opened after that without a hitch
  • mulyincmulyinc Member, PRO Posts: 102
Yes they open but crash randomly at least our games and some others we tested.
  • jonmulcahyjonmulcahy Member, Sous Chef Posts: 10,408
I just installed CAT-ACLYSM and it crashed the first time. A second opening worked and I was able to play for a bit.

Soooo.. I have two app updates ready to submit today... Should I even bother or should I wait another few weeks?

I'm inclined to submit today and see what happens....
  • neomanneoman Member, BASIC Posts: 826
I have just submitted two of mine. I will correct any issues after they have been released if required. According to Apple all 32 bit apps should work fine on IOS 7. The only thing I am not happy about is I submitted the second app after updating application loader and got a message about missing icons. "Your delivery was successful, but you may wish to correct the following issues in your next delivery:

Missing recommended icon file - The bundle does not contain an app icon for iPhone / iPod Touch of exactly '120x120' pixels, in .png format.

Missing recommended icon file - The bundle does not contain an app icon for iPad of exactly '76x76' pixels, in .png format.

Missing recommended icon file - The bundle does not contain an app icon for iPad of exactly '152x152' pixels, in .png format."

The status of the app is waiting for review now so I will see how it all goes and correct the issues after the release ...

Lucky I'm still technically on holiday looking after the youngest before he starts school, so I can wait for it all to get fixed :)
