Hey guys, just wanted to let you know about a new message that I get when uploading an iPad retina binary to iTunes (this is new as of Saturday) - FYI

Dear developer,

Missing recommended icon file - The bundle does not contain an app icon for iPad of exactly '76x76' pixels, in .png format.

I'm just wondering if this will mean an automatic rejection.

Did you build it as a universal app? I'm wondering if they recommend all icon sizes regardless of the project type.

Make sure to submit a bug report or support case so they see it

Just got the same message back from them after an iPad only submission I did 5 minutes ago.

I also received this for an app I submitted 2 weeks ago, iPhone only. They sent it 1 day after it went Live.

I'm guessing that all apps need to have both icon types from now on. submit a support request so they have a record of it.

I just submitted my first iPad app at the time when the Apple event started. I did not not receive that error message though. My binary was also built at the same day.
But I'm having heart attacks since I saw your information. It may come to me as well. :((

it sounds like they send the message after it's been approved. it's more of a 'please fix for next time' kind of thing.

I just uploaded an app now and got the same message about the icons from Apple. The app is waiting for review so I am not going to worry about it unless the app gets rejected. I also reported the issue to GS via a support ticket ;-)

@codewizard is this on your radar?

I just built an iPad app and submitted it and got the same message.

It looks like iPad/iPhone only apps are missing icons, but universal apps are ok.

@jonmulcahy Oh sorry, I thought they would reject right when they saw this problem :\">
