What's The Difference Between "Legacy iPhone" and "iPhone"?

Hi, The title is a bit misleading, what I mean by "What's The Difference Between "Legacy iPhone" and "iPhone?" is how old is legacy iPhone? is it the iPhone 4 because the iPhone 5 has a bigger screen, or is it the iPhone 3 or older?
