Get count of digits in a number - how to

To get the count of digits in a number:

floor ( log10 ( number ) ) + 1

Just to throw it out there :)

    Nice! I like that I can try out math formulas in Spotlight (OS X), too. That one works like a charm.

    I do all my math formulas in Spotlight too! It's really the only thing I use it for.

    Thanks @ericzingeler. When I see stuff like this from you and other more advanced users than myself, it really does show how powerful GS can be with some knowledge of formulae
