Im getting this error every time I try to build a Windows 8 version of my game:
Could not Find Bundle Name in plist

Does anyone know what the problem could be?

did you fill in the entire windows 8 publishing fields? there's a few at the bottom I suspect you're missing.

99% of the time it means that you tried using Apple's codesign utility (i.e. clicked the link in the notification banner) to sign your Windows 8 bundle.

You need to download and use the Win8 App Signer Utility if you want to ad hoc test - http://s3.gamesalad.com/winopenbeta/0.10.00/AppSigner0.10.0.zip

@jonmulchy - no, all fields are definitely filled with the correct info taken from the Win8 dashboard.

@SilentBob - Yes I am using the notification to sign in the banner within the Portfolio page. I'm not attempting to build a ad hoc though.

Am I able to build a Win8 version on a Mac? Or do I need to be running on a Win8 machine?

I've done this previously successfully, but can't remember now!

You're not clicking on the sign app button right? You need to just download the project zip and use the windows utilities to sign the app.

Also remember, if you aren't trying to ad-hoc test, there is no need to sign the bundle. Windows 8 is different from other platforms in this regard.

You can build, publish, and even submit your Windows 8 app for distribution using a Mac. But to sign it, and in turn test it on device (which you should be doing anyway), you need access to a Windows 8 environment.

I agree. That's one of the improvements I would like to see as well.

@SilentBob - really, thats interesting. For some reason I thought you needed a Win8 environment to sign and upload.

So is it the .appxupload version that needs to be sent to Win8 store?

Yes. The ".appxupload" file is the one that you submit for distribution.

yea, i highly highly recommend having a win8 environment to test with, including running the windows app certification kit (see here: http://forums.gamesalad.com/discussion/49649/importance-of-the-windows-app-certification-kit)

    but you don't need one.
