Gamesalad Preview (Freezing/Crashing)...

Hey everyone,

My Gamesalad Creator preview keeps crashing when the game is changing some variables but works fine when I view / test it on a device (iPhone 4S). Has anyone else experienced this?

Same issue on 10.4 and 10.4.1.

    Yes. Mine is crashing too from time to time (10.4 and 10.4.1). Especially when changing variables in attributes and importing images. But it also crashes when its inactive in the background. Im always having one hand in Command+S position doing its move before and after a change in GS.

    I'm pleased someone else is having the same issue, there's a good chance (if my memory serves me right) that this has only started happening since I updated to Mavericks.

    Oh i haven't updated to Mavericks so i dont think its solely because of this. A workaround for avoiding crashes when changing variables in attributes is to skip (enter) and click in any other field. This works most of the time. Closing and reloading the project from time to time does also help.

    Bumping this because i'm still having this issue. I have to test every change on the device now as the viewer is stuttering and crashing too much to test.

    How can I report this to Gamesalad?

    I don't believe GS formally supports mavericks. You should always be sure before you update. I still haven't updated as GS doesn't formally support it yet.

    I get this sometimes if i use the viewer lots of times. So its best practice to save your work every time, or have a back up version if you are adding major stuff that you/not keep in the game.

    @Loaded, do you have the Android SDK installed? Is this maybe causing more problems than usual (sound stuttering) under Maverics?

    @FryingBaconStudios - I didnt realise that, I have an older MacBook running snow leopard so maybe i'll try it on that.

    @jigglybean - Definately in that habit, I have other software (Ableton) that is prone to crashing when under a heavy load.

    @Hopscotch - No I don't have the SDK installed.
