I am currently going to try to make a Walking knight. Walk from left to right with walking animations. That is what I am working on now. But I do have a website. It is not finished, but let me know if you like the idea. www.appgameplay.com

Ok back to my game.
I dont mean to post much. I AM SO ENTHUSIASTIC!

Good job. More people should do that around here.

Make a simple game, something like Pong maybe. Start simple and take your time learning, before long you'll be able to move on to more complex projects.

Build your game in parts, and if you're game idea is quite complex start on something simpler. Maybe copy the mechanics of a simple game already existing, to learn and practise GameSalad until you're ready to start any of the game ideas you might have buzzing around your head.

Basically start off small, and you should pick it up in no time

    Good luck and have fun!

Awesome. You show great initiative. Watch videos and make some small demo projects and keep learning. At some point in the process an idea for a game will inspire you.

The videos on youtube , well I am using windows, so there is about one video. The mac videos, are all different. I mean once I get the concept, I can just buy a mac. But right now, you see.... I don't know what a simple game is. I just learned how to make my actor move right, left, down, up. Which is "pardon my french" fucking amazing. LOL. Seriously. So Let me ask you "how" do people in backgrounds, make their guy keep walking to the right, through the background? like mario? is that something we don't want to do here, is game salad more just levels, in the same spot maybe. TEACH ME guys! The videos, are really not all that for newbies and babysteppers. They are great for medium ranking people, but for beginners, we need slow pace. Maybe I will just keep editing templates. You see. It's all the information AT ONCE! its not like............. a website design.... where.... you just put stuff on the screen and enjoy that bit.... well maybe it is , but i don't see it like that yet. But hey, maybe it is.

I mean't find a game on the App Store or on your computer that you like playing that looks really really simple and try and replicate it, building it yourself from scratch. You don't have to build it in full but try and learn the basic mechanics from some of the simplest games and progress to more complex ones, or start on some of your own game ideas when you feel confident to do so.

Look at old Atari games like Pong, the console in it's days had 100's of really simple games that you could learn from

Thanks Jamie. Right now I have a knight. I am trying to get him to walk left to right and animate while he does it. I downloaded animations of him 1. standing still 2. walking 3. attacking.

So how do i have him animate while sanding still. I just did it. didnt work.

You can watch this course on Udemy. https://www.udemy.com/gamesalad-game-from-scratch-by-gshelper/

It was done on a Mac, but you can still learn how to go about with logic and things like that.

@appgameplay Enthusiasm is good. Filling the forums with lots of new threads about the same general idea is not. Please be considerate of other members here and post again when you have a game underway and/or a specific question about how to do something with GameSalad.

I just counted 8 threads that you started in the last 24 hours or so. Pick a thread and post your ideas or questions there and it won't seem so spammy.
