Whack-O-Wrestling is almost here!!!

It has been about 18 months since I started Whack-O-Wrestling and during that time I have worked with a number of GameSalad members to help finish the game.

WOW has 102 characters to unlock, almost half of those are developer donated characters from FDG (Captain Antarctica, Beyond Ynth, Cover Orange), Pine Entertainment (Pocket Army), Berzeker Games (Super Fly), Yipe V, Joystick Labs (Saturday Morning RPG), Honey Tribe Studios, Multimage (King Cashing), Orange Pixel (Meganoid), Smuttlewerk (Nosferatu) and Paul Livingston of the Trashcan Sinatras.

I reached out to a number of publishers but oddly only Chillingo took the time to play the game. (They liked the game but passed for obvious reasons).

Here are some updated pics.

Do I get to pound the iPad with my fist?

Even having Chillingo play your game seems like an accomplishment to me. :)

    Can we see gameplay?

Pics look great any chance of a video?

I hope to have a video soon. Jason Nestor has been polishing up the art for me, things got dated over the last 18 months. The game is on test flight though and seems to be bug free (so far).

Looks good but I don't get the "rejected for obvious reasons" bit?! Are they against physical abuse towards wrestlers, or do they already have a similar game?

I'm guessing he means it got rejected by Chillingo due to it being a GameSalad game. Most big publishers like to have more control over the games they publish... And due to how GS games are tied to being published through an external server that they have no control over, it takes that control away from them... And adds risk.

It's why you'll never see GameSalad being used by any big well known development studios... It's just too unstable and unpredictable... And has too many restrictions on its use.

I'm guessing Chillingo like to add in their own metrics gathering code too...or purpose built bits of custom code and API's... Which again... Isn't possible with GameSalad games.

It's one of the big reasons why you'll see big studios flocking to unity3d, but totally ignoring GameSalad...

Thanks @Chunkypixels! I guess that makes more sense then them being against physical abuse towards wrestlers :)
