I was just wandering if many people that are using GameSalad make apps for a living and actually earn a sustainable income from their apps. Feel free to share!
It's not my job but it's part of my business - yet to release anything tho.
But, here locally in New Zealand at the game meetups I go to, there have been requests for professional GameSalad developers - but that is overshadowed by 20 times more requests for Unity developers.
I do design apps for iOS for a living for clients, that's part of my business and yes I make a living out of that. But I do not use GameSalad for that as they are business and social related apps that need things GameSalad does not have. So I do the design, UI, UX and consult on functionality and ideas for startups in the app and web space.
Although, I do other things as well, I do make good money making apps for clients. I recently built an app for dewars whiskey. I use Gamesalad exclusively. Building a company is hard work and requires lots of discipline and dedication to the craft. Most of all it requires good people and communications skills. The biggest compliments I get from my clients, outside of my skill is how well I communicate with them. I don't hunt or solicit work most of my clients found me from reading the forums or word of mouth. They said they liked my approach to business integrity. Remember people are trusting you to deliver as they are paying you with hard earned money. They need to trust you and trust is earned. Most of my clients came to me because they were burned by others. And I work tirelessly to deliver as reputation is everything.
FBS whats the name of the App for Dewars? Would like to check it out.

Every spare moment is spent either engaging in client work, templates, or my own games. It's a great experience to work at home. Love it. Wouldn't change anything.

I definitely agree with the points you make here. I'm very new to GameSalad so I'm just starting off with making and releasing one application, but you've got to start somewhere right?
Yes it's my job. But my app still waits approval from Apple. So at the moment I don't have income from game development. I'm also using Unity 3d for gamdev.
At night I am a masked crusader creating game graphics for people and populating my store at http://www.graphic-buffet.com
I would like to make games full time but I don't know if: a) I can take the risk with a family to support b) If there is enough money in the kind of games I would create.
Because I help people design, concept and develop apps and websites, which are startups, the time it takes for them to be released is a while. This is a change from company websites and tools and apps - it's just the rush of start-up style stuff that I have had in the last 1.5 years that is under NDA which means no show.

There is a market out there and the best guys to ask would be the teams at @GSHelper - @DeepBlueApps - @FryingBaconStudios etc.
