Ipad Retina Graphics Not Clear On Non-Retina Device

Hello,

So I am updating my app for the new rules for needing iPad retina graphics and have noticed that the new iPad retina graphics that I've made look not as clear now on the iPad 2 which isn't a retina device. All images as 72 dpi and 2048 by 1536. I then took that same image and ran a test and created a new iPad project which wasn't retina display and also took the 2048 by 1536 image and decreased the size to 1024 by 768 before loading into Gamesalad and it looks clearer on the iPad 2.

Do iPad retina graphics look worse on the iPad 2? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

i'm guessing your retina graphics are not divisible by 4. if they are not, your non-retina graphics end up being odd number sizes which can cause blurriness.

I started a new blank iPad retina project and have only one image in it 2048 by 1536 and 72 dpi and it doesn't look clear on the iPad 2.

Interestingly if I take that same 2048 by 1536 image and start a blank iPad non-retina project and then scale the actor down to 1024 by 768 it looks very clear.

What is the location of the 2048 x 1536 image in the Retina project ?
