do I have to have credit card for publishing a game?

hello guys!
I just notice that I need a credit card to have a Apple Developer Certificate, or I am wrong? so the info that apears on my credit card like my name would be publicly shown to the guys who buy my games? I want a little more privacy :(

    You can also use an Apple gift card to purchase a developer account. If gives you the option at the check out stage.

    Indeed. When I signed up, it offered me to pay either through normal method - debit/credit card or Apple gift voucher.

    you get your money from your bank that you give information to Apple....you need a checking acoount with routing and account number. they give reports per fiscal month.

    @InovaTech, you need it to buy the developer account. NO information is given to customers. It is kept with your apple id info on Apple's secure servers.

    When you setup your account you can be InnovaTech games as a company - that way you are under the team system and it does not show your actual name - just your company name.

    To do that however you need to have a company and prove it.

    If you are an individual making your own apps your individual name will show.

    why do I sometimes see that people have very wierd names like pf chinees guy 10
    or juanroprino.. those are not real names

    The name of your credit card won't be shown on the store, your real name will be shown on the store, unless you go through the relevant steps to set up a valid registered company and send Apple the required paperwork/information to show that you're running as a company.

    I believe I used a Visa debit card to purchase the developer license. It was back in April so can't be 100% certain.

    Invotech...you have some research to do...but you cant access that until you become a registered Apple Developer....which yes...you can use a debit card...as long as it is Visa or Mastercard backed. Once you have paid your $99 to become a developer you then set up your personal tax and banking information...as a sole proprietor...using YOUR name. EVERYTHING is secure...except like he said above...when a person goes to view your game and wether they choose to buy it or not...right under the game name will be you NAME...John Smith. see my page in itunes here...I am a single individual as a sole proprietor.
