Camera Movement

Hi all, I just want to know how to detect if the camera started moving and to which direction.

I basically have an actor that moves the camera, but still cannot determine if that actor already collided with the camera edges to start moving it.
any ideas ?

    I saw the tutorial, but the problem is a bit different, I dont want the camera edges to be that close to the actor, I want him to step few steps before the camera moves, that is easy to be done .. but what I want basically to have a far layer as background to move slowly (slower than the platform) to give the distance feeling.

    so what I want to do here is to tell the far background to move ONLY when the camera moves.

    Sounds like you're after parallax scrolling. Do a search here in the forums for it, there are several posts about it.

    I think if you make the camera size the full width of the screen the actor will move in that space and then when it gets close to the edges, the camera will move.

    it is parallax movement yet, what I am after is not accelerating the background in a slower speed , I wanted not to start moving until the actor reaches the edge of the camera (NOT THE SCENE) .
