PNG or JPG

When displaying an image in a game should you only use PNG format or is it ok to use JPG?
I ask because I have to use several pictures and the size of the PNG files are huge.

png. if it is big than compress it. there are websites that you can compress it for free.

It might not be of much help to you, but also consider .TGA in the future (it can make huge differences, depending on your game/app).

Keep in mind that even if you import a jpg file, Gamesalad converts it to a png file on import.
