Splash Screens

My first app was a non pro membership. So my splash screen was the "Powered by GameSalad" then I made my initial scene follow that with my own version of a splash screen.

Later on I released my first app with a pro membership. This time I did the same thing making my initial scene represent my splash screen. How ever. When the app is started. there is a long black screen pause before the initial scene( splash screen) plays. Now that Im using pro membership. Do I still use the initial scene as my personal splash screen. How do I avoid that long black screen pause before my initial scene( splash screen ) starts.

By adding your own loading screen during the GS publishing process.

Sounds like you actually made a "scene" be your splash screen vs putting one in during your publishing in GS....this happened to me until I put my own in during GS publishing....my current issue is it's a pong with no background and it changes colors until my menu scene starts...

when publishing online there is a splash screen section for you to upload an image before hitting generate. leaving that blank will result in a black screen on loading.

I went to the publishing page. I saw no area asking me for a splash screen image.

@FINNBOGG go to your game in your portfolio, click on the device you are publishing to (iPhone/iPad etc.), scroll down to where the two locations for loading this image are located.

It's under the phone orientation choice and has the title

    Custom Loading Image

It has instructions on the page too.

    Cheers, M@

@finnbogg, you want to fill in this section before publishing. What I do (in some of my games) is have this be a static splash page, and then have a custom animated screen that displays right after it. I'd love to have a quick video play on load, but this works for now. I am going to put in a feature request so they can add it to their list of stuff to work on once the big ticket issues are completed.
