Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 Contest!

Hi everyone,

We're excited to announce a cool contest for the best Kindle Fire games with GameCircle integration! The rules are simple -- make a great game for the Kindle Fire, include GameCircle in your game and post a link to your game here in this thread.

We'll gather all the submissions and choose the top five games that have GameCircle integrated. Please note, the contest is limited to U.S. participants only.

The five winners will each receive a Kindle Fire HDX 8.9!

To be considered, please post your submission before Dec. 27th. We will announce the winners by December 30th.

Oh great those of us who don't live in the US already suffer from the Apple tax (And other companies with their geo blocking) now GS holds a competition and excludes a whole bunch of their users from it. What about the rest of us who don't live in the US?

It can be a game you already submitted for the Amazon promotion. It just has to have GameCircle integration, and you need to post a link to the store page here to enter

@dgackey fair enough it's not your fault but whoever is in charge should think about what they are doing. Holding a competition that doesn't include members outside the US sucks, they may as well give us the finger while there at it.

There are international laws and rules that decide what can be done outside of the country the contest of origin is in - can even be state laws. Can't Blame GS for that. Here in Canada most contests exclude Quebec - even though they are part of Canada.

@SingleSparq maybe so (He didn't give a reason) but that still doesn't affect my point. In business I wouldn't do anything that would exclude some of my customers unless it was well understood and accepted by those who could not participate, that is just asking for trouble. It creates bad feelings towards the business which is never a good thing and should be avoided.

From time to time here in Australia we get news stories about the division between the french and english Canadians. Why is Quebec excluded from contests?

What is holding Gamesalad back from making this contenst international?
The thing is, unlike other online english speaking communities, developer communities are always very diverse in terms of nationality. Developer forums are always international.
So it seems extremely counterintuitive to start a contest for the developers and then exclude a big chunck of developers. Just look at the response in this thread alone.

Battle UFOs: Gamecircle leaderboard.

Bump,n Balls: 3 Gamecircle leaderboards.

Terra Taps: Gamecircle leaderboard.

All of my games are FREE if anyone else wants to try them out there not the most advanced games around but I learned a lot from making them. all of these gave me the skills and knowledge to build my upcoming game Steam Jack you can see my WIP thread here, yes selfish plug.

Feel free to enter as many as you like! We won't award more than one prize to a single person but if you have multiple games that utilize GameCircle, the more you enter, the better your chances of winning one!

@Colander again, I sympathize and certainly don't wish to upset our international developers. I think one of the greatest things about our community is how many different nationalities of developers we have!

This particular promotion was limited to the US, but I will make sure I pass along the very strong feelings about making sure we get more promotions going that are open to everyone.

Quebec has its own stringent laws and when it comes to contests a company must comply to a bunch of things including such things as paying 10% of the contest prize fee. It's really more a fault with Quebec bureaucracy than with the ones holding the contest. If they are not going to make it easy why bother?
