Problem with Lives in game

in Working with GS (Mac)
I have this problem with my game: when ever I put down a counter for the lives the lives get to zero I want the scene to change. Instead it freezes. Please help!

    A little bit more information would be useful if you want serious answers and advice.
    What do you mean with "it freezes"? What is freezing? The counter? The Scene? The Game? GS? Your Computer?
    In which way have you build your counter?
    etc...
