Got a mac. Need help

Hey everyone my brother has given me his mac desktop which he has never ever used. I recently installed gamesalad and the newest version for mac on the desktop. My question is what programs are best for a mac to do with creating game art aswell as making/editing videos.

Adobe Illustrator, Inkscape, Quicktime Player, Screenflow.

Theres also some online and also a website to resize your images if you need to , and if you need some graphics
