why Creating a new project in Dashboard shut down?

in Working with GS (Mac)
does anybody know why every time I open the dashboard to create a new project it closes the program ?

    What version of Creator are you using? What version of OS X or Windows are you running? Is this something that started recently? If so, could it be caused by other software you installed recently? How much RAM does your computer have? Does restarting the computer help? Can you open existing project files and edit them?

    using window 8, I just downloaded the software and when I tried to run a templet I was getting kicked out of the software. My computer has a terra more then enough space, restarting the computer does not help, I'm new at this so I have no existing files, trying to create one at this point. Need help getting that started.
