Preview screen is white

When I click the preview button (I'm in windows creator) all I get is a white screen with the back to editor, pause, and magnifier buttons. I've tried right-clicking and hitting "reload", uninstalling and reinstalling multiple times, and restarting my computer.
Any ideas?

The problem is that it doesn't even show the scene, the scene changer at the bottom, or the black background. It's all pure white. Once in a long while it'll work.

Which version of Wondows are you on? I have not seen this before and I have GS running on Vista, Win7 and Win8.

    I'm running Win7

I'm too running windows 7, try saving your project (as a new file just to be safe, im sure nothing will happen to it but you never know) once saved, close gamesalad creator and re-open as administrator (I'm guessing your the administrator) If that doesn't work i'll have a look to see if I can 'replicate' the issue and figure something out

What do you mean by administrator?

  • HopscotchHopscotch Member, PRO Posts: 2,782

You can right click on the desktop shortcut and choose "Run as Administrator"

  • Msumatt17Msumatt17 Member Posts: 11

    What does that do?

  • SmokeyAce73SmokeyAce73 EarthMember Posts: 370

    runs the program as admin...

@Msumatt17, you marked this thread as answered? did you find a solution to your problem?

  • Msumatt17Msumatt17 Member Posts: 11

No, I must have accidentally clicked it.

Ok, the only other thing I can think of is trying some of the compatibiliy options. It is one of the tabs if you right click on the shortcut and choose properties. Try activating the scaling option or deaktivating the Visual designs.

Still broken. The thing is that sometimes it works, and then it starts working for a while, then it stops working.

And also when I try to log in, it says there are errors with the servers.

Then I don't know. It may be something specific to your computer, since you say you have tried reinstalling GS. Is your graphics driver up to date? Where you always polite to old people? Just clutching at straws.

@Msumatt17, so I finally dug up a machine that was showing the same problem as you report. Updating the graphics driver to the newest version (in this case NVIDIA) did the trick.

I'm no expert on computers, what is the graphics driver?

  • HopscotchHopscotch Member, PRO Posts: 2,782

It is the software running your video card.

Then I suggest you ask an acquaintance or a local technician to help you. Ask them that you need help updating your graphics driver and maybe check that Windows is properly updated as well.

Giving you instructions over the forums would be too dicey.

this happened to me this was because one of the booleans i had added was making the game have an error, try deleting a few of ur recent boolean attribute and see if that makes a difference, it did for me, best of luck.
