    It's not hardcore. More like, crazy. Those collision boxes are HUGE.
    I gave up after a few tries -- no sense in dying before even hitting the ghost. Or not being able to climb the higher platforms properly.

    Check out this really nice article I stumbled upon a long time ago. It talks about platformer-essentials. There's a part there that talks about proper collision boxes (e.g. bigger for Health Kits and Power Ups, smaller for Enemies and Obstacles).

    edit: also, being able to move while in mid-air would be nice.
