I totally understand the anger and frustration, but you should always, always, always make back ups of anything important! :(

Did you ever do any adhoc testing or anything through the Gamesalad servers? I believe I've read on the forums that GS is able to pull files back from there and supply them to you if you have.

Painful but valuable lesson. You won't want to hear that right now but it's just not a good plan to work without several versions of a file saved as a backup.

Sorry to hear that - I've had that happen to me more than once.. One of the things I learned in my early days as a Game Designer is the concept of Save Early and Save Often..

When I work on GS Apps, I always make a point to do a Save-As and do an iterative save every hour or so or whenever I make a major change..

    i.e. GameBuild_001.gameproj, GameBuild_002.gameproj, etc.

By the time I'm done with a project, I might have as many as 30+ saves. Sure, it takes a lot of HDD space, but I can live with compressing the builds and throwing them on to a storage drive later much better than I can put the hair back into my head after I pull it out from losing hours of work..
