You can make multiplayer games... its tricky and a few people are working on them using their own servers. To date I don't think anyone has published one. Others are using the Playstogether integration (which I think has a small but that is on the list to be fixed).

Define online?

If by "online" you mean simply playing a game in your browser, that would be publishing it to the Gamesalad Arcade.
When I say "online" I mean playing with someone on another device.
