All your base are belong to us!

We're super excited to announce that we've acquired Together Games, the makers of the asynchronous multiplayer game server platform that we integrated with earlier in the year. This acquisition ensures that we can provide managed server hosting for all of our users that want to put asynchronous multiplayer into their apps!

This feature is currently available in our latest "nightly" build and will be re-enabled in our next release. After this initial release, we'll turn our attention toward rolling out more of the platform's features: text chat, achievements, and leaderboards

We'll begin assimilating their webpage soon and rolling it into our main site.

This is exciting news, folks! We're getting more and more cool stuff for you to use to build more sophisticated apps faster.

Keep your eyes peeled for more information!

    Just the missing bit

Now if you fix the missing ability to load external files, and GameSalad would be PERFECT

    Nice

Ah, this is interesting news. A while back, I suggested that GameSalad focus on helping developers. If developers have the skills to build their own asynchronous system, GameSalad should let them do that. If developers don't know how to do that, or don't want to bother, GameSalad has the opportunity to make some money.

The acquisition of Together Games, while improving the web related behaviors, shows that GameSalad gets it. They're taking risks and making big moves to make GameSalad good software for game developers.

This is good news. Although, Metrics Gathering is still at the bottom of the list...

@Photics … good to see you're standing firm on your 'Metrics Gathering' stance, a one man battle against the powers that be.

Probably still gonna roll my own async server… 'if' I finish my async game. Just to keep improving my PHP knowledge … (Assuming we keep the URL behaviours).

Wow, I didn't think about that. If they "nerf" the URL behaviors to boost the adoption of Together Games usage, that would be pretty messed up. Hopefully, they'll see that it's unnecessary. Let the Pros be Pros. What you're doing with PHP attracts a different group of people to GameSalad. It adds legitimacy to the software – proving that beginners and advanced users can still learn and have room to grow.

Plus, running your own web server is tedious. A developer might start out with running their own server, but then a catastrophic event might occur. In a scramble to keep their games running, Together Games is a nice fallback... or Vise-Versa. If a game becomes incredibly popular, it might be more economical to switch to self-hosting.

The multiplayer behaviors are available in the nightly build of GameSalad.

@Photics‌ : The URL behaviors will not be removed or nerfed. If you want to roll your own server, that's cool with us. I'm actually hoping to add more features to them if I ever get the time. :)

In addition to the extra features listed by CodeWizard, I'd also like to mention that push notification is part of that as well. And that achievements are already implemented.
