My First Game, Elemento

Hello all!

A few months ago I finished my first game, Elemento. I was only able to release it recently because I wanted it to be free while using iAds, but didn't have the money for Pro so I saved what I could until I had enough. I eventually got everything in order and finally got to release my own game! Now, this game is short(it has 3 different levels) but it was made as a sort of tester to see how everything in the app store/itunes connect worked so please download it for iPhone and tell me what you think. The iPad version is currently waiting for review so I will update this post when it is available.

One last thing I should mention is that when publishing the iPhone version through gamesalad I used the wrong size icon image(1024x1024 instead of 512x512) so the icon in the app store and on the device once downloaded is just a blank white one. I have resubmitted the game with the correct icon so once it's approved everything should be fine.

Sorry if this post is a bit long winded but thanks for reading(and hopefully downloading)!

I'm glad your first game is out -- but I'm sure that more people would be more inclined to download your game if you provide a direct link.

Downloaded your game. Nice job man. I would recommend upgrading your graphics though. That's the first thing that ran through my head as a game player. If you want to do your own graphics I highly recommend this blog: http://2dgameartforprogrammers.blogspot.com/

I've learned how to make lots of graphics for my games.

Hi dreichelt! Thanks for downloading the game and posting that link, it should come in very handy. Seeing as this was my first game I didn't want to go too crazy with the art but from now on my games should hopefully look better!

Hey no problem man! I just some positive feedback from me
Do remember that your icon and screenshots are what will draw the potential game player in. You have to sell the game with those as best you can or they won't bother looking. Best thing to do is look up popular apps and analyze how they do their screenshots. That's what I do for my games. I just emulate the successful ones.

Haha, I'll keep that in mind thanks!

hey so i think the biggest things you could do to improve your game are to first make the buttons to move left and right bigger. Second, you need to tweak the concept of the game a little to make it more challenging. From what i saw you can just keep playing if you just stay out of the zone where the things fall. Maybe you could make more elements fall in random spots.

Thanks for the feedback! I'll see what I can do.

Sorry it took so long but I have made the left and right buttons in the game bigger and therefore, easier to press. I sent the update in a couple of days ago so should hopefully go live sometime soon. I will try to make some of the other changes mentioned soon, thanks!
