    Great template -- thanks, @PureEpicStudios‌ !

Not trying to be a killjoy and I am certainly not going to tag anyone but for clarification purposes, I thought the download had to be in the post. In this case you have to go to the site (where items are for sale) and then register? I would love it if we could do this but I am 99.9% sure we can't.

  • AppTacoAppTaco Member Posts: 125

Thanks for the feedback guys. :) Keep on the lookout for some more coming soon.

@BazookaTime‌ I heard there was a slight change of rules where you can post a direct link to the template you're giving away. Correct me if I'm wrong. I don't want to break the forum rules.

    That's a great template! Thanks!

@PureEpicStudios Love that you're giving the template away, thanks! :D But I'm definitely not seeing a direct link, only a link to a page where I have to sign up and check out. By direct link they mean one click and it's downloading.

    Hey guys ( @Armelline‌ and @BazookaTime‌ ),

Just posting this from my community tutorial thread. @tatiang‌ posted this - straight from GS I understand:

It's okay to post links to third-party templates in any thread as long as those templates are free and the link is directly to the download (with or without an account sign up).

  • BazookaTimeBazookaTime Member Posts: 1,274

@Braydon_SFX‌ good to know. I am getting old but I could have swore there was an issue with offering free items where people had to go to your site (where you sell other items) to download it. It was a way to advertise your third party site/items. But hey this is cool, I will jump all over it while it is okay:-)

As @BazookaTime says, good to know. It really puts me off downloading something when I have to go through a checkout system though :(

to clairfy: the way the rules a worded to allow third party sites the ability to track their downloads is

Each user or third party site which supplies free demos or tutorials will be allowed to maintain a single thread inside the “Community Tutorials” sub forum. All tutorials and demos must be kept inside that single thread and only links directly to the page where the free download is available are allowed. Discussing or linking to paid items is strictly prohibited.

This is the compromise that was made since the third party sites like to track downloads and we like having their freebies available. they have to stay in one thread to keep things tidy and avoid a forum full of advertisement freebie posts.

So the only thing wrong here is its not in community tutorials. I'll move that right now.

Thanks for the free stuff and keep it coming.

    Cheers

Edit: also there is nothing in the rules that says the third party site cannot require a signup to download. We felt that was overstepping a little to much to begin dictating how the third parties operated their business on their own sites.

what version of GS is used to make this btw! "the tower crate game i mean" the tower is a great template, but its not endless! i know its free so I'm not complaining we just have to alter a few attributes to go higher i guess :) also can't load it on to the view on my iPhone, doesn't seem to like that, otherwise AWESOME for making this guys!

Very nice templates and thanks for sharing. I will give these a look.

*The crate game is VERY addicting!

  • AppTacoAppTaco Member Posts: 125

    Glad you all enjoyed it!
@jay2dx‌ I have the latest version of GS and not a nightly build.
The reason I didn't make it endless is to have that scroll down effect at the end. You can make it longer by changing the screen height and also lengthening the collision actors.

Looks really nice :) thanks for sharing.

Alright guys! Here is another free template from The Developer Depot. It's a color matching app with a gameplay concept similar to a few apps on the app store.

Art comes free, but we encourage you to make your own art and add an original twist to the gameplay, if you are going to publish.

    Download: http://thedeveloperdepot.com/?download=color-collector-template

We also did a tutorial video on how to make this template from scratch.
