Online Apps!?

Im planning on creating an app that is not a game. I need it to be online though. How do I go about creating this. If anyone with experience or just knows what I need to do to make my app online, I will really appreciate your advice.

    I think you'll need to define more clearly what exactly you mean by 'online'.

    Well its just an app that you need the internet in order to use it. Like a wifi connection or 4g. I cant explain the app details.

    If you are suggesting that you want your app to pull or display live information from a web server you might be able to do that using the async multiplayer options Gamesalad has but I'm not familiar with them so perhaps someone else can offer some advice.

    basically you want to create a online server/ Network.. i guess that link from jamie is the best advice ive came across inall as i also have a relatively good idea but it cant be made without a server. @burkious if you find any other good and simple links drop me a mail please:D
