I don't have an issue with it running slow. There are times it starts running slow after I have been working in it for hours but then I just save, close and reopen. Maybe you need more ram/processing power or HDD space on your computer or the version OS your running or how old your system is. Also, maybe it's been awhile since you did a fresh reboot to your system. There are a lot of factors that can factor into a program running slow. Just throwing some other ideas out there why you might be facing these issues
There was a memory issue that was causing the application to slow down more the longer you used it. This leak I think was present in Mavericks, but was particularly bad in Yosemite. The latest build linked by @BlackCloakGS definitely looks to have solved this issue, though, and has been super-speedy for me in the (minimal) use I've had of it so far.
In short, update to RC 0.12.13 and your problem should go away.

Thats great to know. Ive never liked release candidate programs but may have to do it.
I can confirm, RC12.13 makes a huge difference.
